- It is to be noted that all over the world HDPE ducts are preferred over metallic ducts.
- There is no difference in the basic prices of HDPE & Metallic Sheathing ducts.
- In overall cost of the structure, approx. 10% of the total project cost is spent on prestressing work including material. The amount spent towards actual cost of sheathing duct is about 10% of the prestressing work and if HDPE ducts are costlier by few percentage over metallic, the over all cost impact is negligible.
- It is also to be noted that if the lesser values of m & k in PE ducts are considered right from the designing stage, there would be substantial saving in steel.
